The idea that nature could be a part of a brand’s cultural and creative strategy started within the world of advertising itself.

In 2020, Rick created a panel of amazing thinkers and creators to talk about how the future of creativity could be found in nature (login required) through practices like biomimicry at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. He also drafted some initial design principles for creating a ‘slow brand’ (login required) that moved at the more sustainable pace of nature and the more-than-human world that was published by Campaign. These examples and principles started to find their way into his client work in agencyland with great success.
